Born in 1978 with a Swedish-Turkis background Emre Gürler is a social innovator and an entreprenurial spirit with more than 20 years experience form the Swedish and global business arena. He has held key positions within Bonnier Magazines, Expressen, Hyper Island and SOLVATTEN. He´s been studyig business and entrepreneurship at Växjö University, international business and mandarin at Macau University in Chinga as well as subjects at Makarere University in Uganda.

The last 10 years he has had a special focus on Sub-Sahara Africa where he started his own organization Africa’s Potential in Uganda 2007, which is a platform for boosting local entrepreneurship initaitves, such as the co-creation of the business incubator network Global Business Labs in Uganda, Namibia and Botswana in a joint venture between Stockholm School of Business Incubator and SIDA B4D. He’s also the Co-Founder of SWEACC – The Swedish East-African Chamber of Commerce which is boosting trade with the East African Community and has more then 200 member companies. Emre is a frequent inspirational lecturer as well when it comes to topics such as social entrepreneruship, emerging markets in Sub-Sahara and social innovation. Swedish business magazines such as Dagens Industri and Veckans Affärer has written about his initatives in Sub-Sahara. He has been awarded as one of the Top 100 most promising Swedes below the age of 40 in Shortcut magazine.

Today he has numerous of a Senior Adviser and board member appointments in for example: Somalias first ever business incubator iRise Hub Mogadishu. ORTEN.IO which is a platform where people no matter background , social status, gender, religion can meet  and be inspired to co-operate  within tech entrepreneurship in Sweden. He’s also a boardmember in the toptier Swedish Allsvenska footballclub Eskilstuna United where he’s the Head of CSR.
