Malin Nilsson is Secretary General of the Swedish section of the Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom, WILPF Sweden. In her work, she advocates for a gendered analysis of security politics and for women’s meaningful participation in the area of peace and security. By working together with women’s rights activists in conflict and post-conflict countries, WILPF has been able to create political will and capacity to address gendered aspects of disarmament and arms control.

Malin is passionate about promoting equality, peace and disarmament through political advocacy by bringing local testimonies and analysis from women’s rights activists in conflict-affected countries to decision makers in Sweden. She is a member of the foreign ministers International Law and Disarmament Delegation, where she represents a feminist civil society perspective on the questions under discussion.

Before joining WILPF, Malin worked for the Stockholm China Economic Research Institute. She holds an MA in Asian Studies and has a strong interest in the region.
