As founders of this organization we acknowledge the importance of education, listening, collaboration and learning when working for sustainable global development in all its dimensions. This acknowledgement is also well stated in the Sustainable Development Goals (for example Goal No.4), The UNESCO Roadmap for Implementing the Global Action Programme on Education for Sustainable Development (GAP) and in UN conventions on Human Rights. This is a list of achievements in the area of education in different organizations by our Chair Ingvar Rönnbäck:
Educational work at Umeå University, Swedish University of Agriculture Scences, Swedish National Agency for Higher Vocational Education and Malmö University (1991-2017). During these period Ingvar Rönnbäck has educated and tutored students at four Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and ten departements in broad variation of subjects, courses and programmes; courses on all levels on graduate- and master level in Peace- and Conflict Studies and at an International Programme for Crisis- and Conflict Management, lectures in Development Studies, Minor Field Studies, Humanecology, Environmental History, Global Challenges, Peoples of the Baltic, Culture and Identity, International Trends in Formal Education, Environment and Society, Globalization and Global Health, Postcolonialism, The Culture of Power and Resistance, Migrationprocesses and Dynamics in Tropical Land Use.
The ”home departements” for Ingvar Rönnbäck have been Center for Interdisciplinary Sciences and Department of Political Science at Umeå University (1992-2002, 2008-2017), even if he also had some long-term collaboration with other universities.
Educational work at Sida Civil Society Center och Sida Partnership Forum (2002-2004, 2008-2009, 2013-2015). As the programme officer for humanitarian assistance and conflict managment Ingvar Rönnbäck has planned, educated and evaluated educations and trainings for various target-groups working with international development cooperation. This educational work has continued when he founded his company ADEP Ltd in courses for Minor Field Students, Practioners, Junior Programme Officers (JPO) and Special Assistant to Regional Coordinators (SARC), i.e. young employees in UN-organizations.
Educational work for organisations and in schools (1985-2016). As a member of and employee for Swedish Peace and Arbitration Society Ingvar Rönnbäck lectured on various themes (armaments, disarmaments, arms trade, peacebuilding, non-violence etc) in a multitude of upper secondary schools in The City of Luleå and in some schools in The City of Umeå between 1985-1990. After that period he continued doing lectures and meet teachers and pupils in schools as well as participants in events organized by for example NGOs, political parties and churces.
Acknowledgements as a teacher
Ingvar Rönnbäck was awarded a special price by Umeå Student Union 2001 for achievements as a teacher after nomination by students at The Center for Interdisciplinary Sciences where he educated in Peace- and Conflict Studies but also in several other subjects and courses during 1992-2002.
He was nominated to the same price 2011, 2012 and 2013 by students from The International Program for Crisis- and Conflict Management and the subject Peace- and Conflict Studies governed by Department of Political Science, Umeå University.
