On April 20th, Another Development Foundation participated at a highly interesting seminar on a new book written by researchers at KTH Royal Institute of Technology; Per Högselius, David Nilsson and Hanna Wikström.

The seminar and bookrelease were well visited by scholars and an interested audience at Salongen, KTH Royal Institute of Technology.

The book mapped Sweden’s role in the world, focusing on Swedish activities in colonial and postcolonial arenas from the late 19th century to the present day.  The book also explores Sweden’s entanglements in colonial projects, examining how Swedish actors utilized the country’s neutrality to access resources in Africa and Asia.

Besides of Per Högselius and Hanna Wikström participating in the panel, the book was also commented by Eleonor Marcussen, historian at Linnéus University, Urban Lundberg, historian at Dalarna University and David Isaksson, Chief Editor at Global Bar Magazine. The dialogue was moderated by David Nilsson.

Another Development Foundation participated based on an interest and concern for resistance towards colonialism. It is of importance for Another Development Foundation to be part of dialogues that increases the understanding of colonialism and of partnerships that counters colonialism.

The authors of the book have contributed with important research on Swedish colonialism. The panel discussion was also of high quality and of great interest.
