Yesterday, Ingvar Rönnbäck, Another Development Foundation had the honour of listening and talking to David Swanson, Executive Director of World BEYOND War who was in Stockholm talking about how to end war and abolish war as a social institution.
David is the first-ever recipient of the Real Nobel Prize, awarded by the Lay Down Your Arms Foundation in Oslo, Norway where he was November 10th to recevie the prize.
David Swanson is also an author, activist, journalist, and radio host. Besides of being the Executive Director of World BEYOND War he is also the campaign coordinator of RootsAction.org. Swanson’s books include his latest: NATO What You Need to Know with Medea Benjamin. He blogs at DavidSwanson.org and he hosts Talk World Radio. He is also a U.S. Peace Prize recipient.
We are looking forward to future and further conversations with David and other members of the WBW-team, as well as with other allies who are looking for nonviolent solutions on conflicts, who resist violence and oppression without using violence themselves.
The ongoing militarisation of the world is pure madness with tremendous consequences and risks. Alternatives have to be explored and promoted. Our survival depends on it.
