Another Development Foundation Advisory Group Meeting

The board of the foundation was happy hosting the team of advisors at the first Another Development Foundation Advisory Group Meeting in REX Rådhuset, in The City of Umeå February 12th 2018. The contributions from the advisors on strategies for organizational development are of huge importance for the foundation. Rethinking Development – A Conference in Gothenburg, Sweden 2018

Another Development Foundation will participate at Rethinking Development at Gothenburg University August 22nd-23rd, 2018 together with Hard Rain Project. The conference is arranged by School of Global Studies (SGS), Centre on Global Migration (CGM) in co-operation with the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), the Swedish Research Council (VR), and the Gothenburg Centre of Globalization and Development (GCGD). Another Development Foundation and Hard Rain Project will be responsible for the following session in the program: Searching for Another Development through Nonviolence

Another Development Foundation in Latvia – A Conference on Prevention of Violence Against Women

Peter Söderström, one of the founders of Another Development Foundation and founder of Gender Equality Vision, was commissioned November 30th 2017 by The Embassy of Sweden and Resource Centre Marta to be a Keynote speaker at the international conference "Effective Solutions for Preventing Domestic Violence and Violence against Women" in Riga, Latvia. Garden talk for Another Development in Sweden and African Countries

September 29th 2017 Another Development Foundation invited managers and scholars from African countries and Sweden for a talk on the meaning of another development, challenges and opportunities in our countries in relation to the overall goal of sustainable development with focus on local development. Another Development Foundation hosted representatives from Gunungkidul Regency in Yogyakarta, Indonesia and Center for Rural Medicine in Västerbotten working for equitable health in the framework of a partnership funded by Swedish International Centre for Local Democracy (ICLD). Rethinking Pacifism Conference in New Zeeland

November 22nd-24th 2017 an important international conference on pacifism, revolution, security and politics will be held at University of Otago, New Zeeland. Our chair Ingvar Rönnbäck will participate at this conference with the paper ”Beyond Marginalization of Pacifism and Nonviolence” together with other scholars and activists who are equally committed to nonviolence. The conference is organized by The National Centre for Peace and Conflict Studies and supported by Marsden Fund.

With assistance from our partner Kim Nilsson, founder of Below Zero, we have now decided on our logo for our foundation. It is a small step making others know who we are, but nevertheless an important one. We are working for people, places and the planet promoting peace, freedom from violence, human rights, gender equality and sustainable development. Collaboration on Gender Based Violence with Partners in Africa

Another Development Foundation is happy to announce that we have started a collaboration on gender based violence and for freedom from violence with gender- and mediaorganizations in five african countries; Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda and Zambia! The collaboration will be managed by ADEP - Another Development Perspective Ltd and Cooperation Arena for Sustainable Development in Africa (CASDA) with the foundation as the key partner. The project is funded by Swedish Institute, and was launched October 1st-5th when all participants met
